Taking care of your paddleboard is really important, never more so than when being used in hot weather.
All Paddleboards are made to be enjoyed outside, but the elements can cause damage over an extended period of time. To avoid this we would recommend the following:
High temperature/direct sunlight:
All paddleboards have a recommended maximum PSI. When you’re not using your paddleboard on the water and it is left for extended periods of time in direct sunlight or in high summer temperatures, the heat causes the air inside your board to expand, significantly increasing the board’s pressure past the recommended maximum and can cause Paddleboards to warp and the seams to fail. Over inflation or inflation above manufacturer recommendation PSI may invalidate any manufacturer warranty
To prevent this happening, we suggest the following steps to keep your board safe from being damaged by heat this summer!
Never leave your board or deck pad exposed to the sun for an extended period of time
Reduce the PSi in your board when transporting on a roof-rack
Reduce the pressure in your board when not in use
Regularly check the pressure of your board on hot sunny days
As temperatures increase, reduce the pressure in the board
Leave a portion of your board in the water where possible to keep it cool
Generally, the pressure of your board will not increase significantly when it is in use as the water acts to keep the air in your board cool.
Salt Water & Abrasive Cleaning Products:
Salt water is a corrosive agent. To prolong the life of your paddleboard, we recommend washing any salt water residue off your board with fresh water after every use.
Many domestic cleaning products contain abrasive chemicals which can damage your board. We recommend using fresh cool water to wash your board or use a cleaner designed for PVC & EVA to deal with any stubborn stains
Ensure your Paddleboard and accessories are completely dry before putting them away. This will prevent mould and staining on your board and accessories
    Sand, grit and mud:
Not removing sand, grit and mud from your fin/skeg box, fin/skeg and paddle will lead to difficulty in assembling and disassembling these items. We recommend that you disassemble your paddle and fin/skeg after each use and wash them thoroughly with fresh water
If not removed, sand and mud can cause discolouration, staining and damage  to your board.
