Caring for your HIKS Paddle Board

Paddleboarding is a fantastic way to enjoy the water and stay active, and it's important to take good care of your SUP so it lasts for many years of fun. Here are three easy tips to help you keep your paddleboard in top shape.

1. Clean Your Paddleboard Regularly

After each use, rinse your paddleboard with fresh water to remove any salt, sand, or other debris. Use a soft-bristled brush or sponge to gently scrub the surface and remove any stubborn dirt or stains. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the board's finish. If you're storing your board for an extended period, be sure to clean it thoroughly first to prevent any mold or mildew from forming.

2. Store Your SUP Properly

When not in use, store your board in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid leaving your SUP inflated all the time, as this can put unnecessary pressure on the seams and weaken the material. Instead, you should ideally deflate your board after each use and store it flat or rolled up. If you're traveling with your paddleboard, use a padded bag or cover to protect it from scratches or dings.

3. Protect Your Paddle Board In Heat

Avoid leaving your board in direct sunlight for extended periods, as this could cause the air inside your board to expand beyond the board’s recommended pressure, causing paddleboards to warp and the seams to fail. Find a shady spot to rest and cool off when paddling on a hot day.
